What the calculator gives a stairs and railings company
Net starting prices and 8% VAT, since stairs installed in a home have the reduced rate. Delivery alone without installation has 23%; you change the rate and every price.
A step by structure
Straight self-supporting or stringer, zigzag (solid-block), cantilever, on a steel frame and spiral, each at its own rate per step with materials and installation. With no step count in the description, the template uses 15, a typical flight to the upper floor.
Surcharges for winders and wood
A winder step on the turn has a surcharge per step. The rates are for ash, beech and pine, and oak, walnut and exotic wood have a surcharge on every step.
A railing per lin. m by type
Timber, powder-coated steel, stainless steel, glass or wrought iron. The length comes from the description, or without it from the number of steps; a gallery railing around the stairwell, a balcony or terrace railing and a wall handrail are added separately.
Cladding concrete stairs
A timber tread and riser per step, with materials. The same surcharges for oak and walnut as for new stairs.
Renovation and extras
Sanding, filling and varnishing per step, LED lighting in the steps, reinforcing the wall under cantilever stairs, attic stairs with the opening finished, and removing old stairs without haul-away.
Metalwork and steel structures
Galvanized outdoor steel stairs per set, window grilles per piece, a mezzanine on a steel frame per m², a steel-and-glass door canopy per piece and powder coating per m², each with materials and installation. Installing a grille has a rate, and you enter the price of the grille itself from your supplier. Without steps in the description, the template works out the structures alone.
Measurement before the quote
Every project has the “Stairs measurement and design” item priced at 0: enter your rate or remove it. Connecting the LED lighting to the electrical system is priced by the electrician.

Self-supporting ash stairs, 15 steps, timber railing
The client writes about stairs to the upper floor. The template works out 15 straight steps with materials and installation and a timber railing from the step count, approx. 5 lin. m.
Oak zigzag (solid-block) stairs, 16 steps including 4 winders
With a 5 lin. m glass railing, 3 lin. m of gallery upstairs and LED lighting in the steps: the template works out the zigzag steps, the oak and winder surcharges, 8 lin. m of railing and the lighting.
Cladding concrete stairs in oak, 14 steps
With a stainless steel railing: the template works out cladding for each step, the oak surcharge and the railing from the step count.
Glass gallery railing, 6 lin. m
No stairs: the template works out only a glass railing of 6 lin. m in safety glass with installation.
Renovating timber stairs, 13 steps
The template works out sanding, filling and varnishing each step with materials.
Outdoor steel stairs, 6 lin. m of wrought-iron railing and 3 grilles
An entrance to the house: the template works out a set of galvanized steel stairs with installation, 6 lin. m of wrought-iron railing and installing 3 window grilles. You enter the price of the grilles themselves from your supplier.
Steel mezzanine, 12 m², with 5 lin. m of steel railing
The template works out 12 m² of a mezzanine on a steel frame with installation and 5 lin. m of powder-coated steel railing.
Powder coating 20 m² and a door canopy
Renovating a fence and a new entrance: the template works out 20 m² of powder coating of steel parts and a canopy of steel and tempered glass with installation.
Stainless steel balcony railing, 8 lin. m
No stairs: the template works out 8 lin. m of stainless railing on a balcony with installation.

The Chrome extension takes what the shop gives—usually the name, photo and price—from the shop page into the project and room you choose. Whatever the shop does not give, you select on the page and say what it is—a name, a price, a dimension, a color, a finish, a material, a catalog number, the manufacturer or the supplier. In October 2026 we checked it on 24 Polish online shops; it is not limited to selected partners.

Questions about quoting stairs
How is the price of stairs worked out?
Per step, by structure: straight, zigzag (solid-block), cantilever, on a steel frame or spiral. Winder steps and wood pricier than ash (oak, walnut) have a surcharge per step.
Is the railing included in the price of the stairs?
No. The railing is a separate item per linear meter: timber, steel, stainless steel, glass or wrought iron. A wall handrail is separate too.
Can I quote just cladding concrete stairs, or a renovation?
Yes. Cladding a step with timber and renovating a step (sanding and varnish) are separate items per step.
Is the material included in the price per step?
Yes. The rate per step covers the tread with the riser, material and installation. Wood pricier than ash, beech and pine has a surcharge per step.
Is there a measurement before the quote?
Every project has a stairs measurement and design item with a price of 0. You enter your own rate or delete it.
Can I quote metalwork without stairs?
Yes. Outdoor steel stairs, grilles, a mezzanine, a door canopy, powder coating and a balcony railing go in the description or the questions. Without steps, the template works out the structures and railings alone.
